Textbook Assignment:

Step 1: Read Chapter 7, pages 134–147 in your textbook (Marine Biology, 7th edition, by Castro and Huber) and answer the questions on your worksheets.

NOTE: Chapter 7 is broken into two parts: Unit 4 and Unit 5.

Please follow the directions below and answer the related questions on your worksheet.

Step 2: Complete Textbook Activity–Comparing Invertebrates, Part 2 This review activity can be done anywhere.
(no lab points but important for your test)

Step 3: Complete Lab Activity–Survey of Marine Invertebrates, Part 2 This lab must be done in the Biology Learning Center.

Step 4: Complete Lab Activity–Using a Dichotomous Key, Part 2 This lab must be done in the Biology Learning Center.

Explore kits with examples of invertebrates from the phyla and classes covered in this unit.

Step 7: Prepare for the Unit 5 Exam. Study your completed worksheets. Click here to take the online self test.

Review your Step 4 worksheets--Your test includes 10 questions that use the dichotomous keys and a box of specimens for you to identify.

Step 8: Come in to the Biology Learning Center to take your Unit 5 Exam. The exam will consist of 30 multiple choice questions and a 10 question lab practical using the dichotomous keys.
